In fact, she has not only gone to camp grounds, but she sometimes likes to set up her tent on the beach and camp out the evening there and cook out and listen to music and watch the sky and listen to the sounds of the ocean. Her tent must be as good as the ones for sale online here.

I hadn’t thought of something to keep the tent itself dry that is a good idea. Keep the info coming will ya.

In the summer time, it is rainy season in South Florida. So keeping away from water when it rains is going to be very difficult. I guess I will have to make sure I stock up on water proof gear like containers, tents and clothing. I’ll be sure to bring my scuba diving shoes.

Comment on 5 Remote Outdoor Locations to Visit in North America by Gilbert Baron http://sunnyscope.com/5-remote-outdoor-locations-visit-north-america/#comment-329 Gilbert Baron Fri, 29 Mar 2013 12:56:02 +0000 http://sunnyscope.com/?p=7123#comment-329 Guadalupe Mountains bring back memories and a desire to visit again. Be sure to take the Dog Canyon entry loop over Tejas trail and around for 15 miles of rugged hiking and you will likely be alone for at least 12 of those miles. Bring water, maps, and GPS and expect no cell signal. The trail to the old ranch house is another beauty. Guadalupe Peak will have significant traffic but is still worth it for the views and highest point 8749 feet in Texas.
In this park take a LOT of water. You will carry all that you use.

I can remember all the stories about that big one in China blowing up and the damage it did many years ago so what happens if one lays dormant for so long and finally blows its top will it level the towns around it? What kind of warning signals do they have for these things?

Comment on Don’t Eat That! 5 Wild Mushrooms to Avoid in the US by Darren http://sunnyscope.com/eat-5-wild-mushrooms-avoid/#comment-326 Darren Thu, 07 Mar 2013 12:51:15 +0000 http://sunnyscope.com/?p=7275#comment-326 I’ll bet most people do not realize it, but Fungi are not plants, and neither are they animals. Unlike plants, which convert the sun’s energy into food, fungi feed on other plant and animal material and do not need sunlight; they use enzymes to dissolve their food before they absorb it. As such, they should be respected just like you respect a potentially deadly wild animal.

But that Google image of the Russian Klyuchevskaya Sopka volcano is like something right out of a midlevel science fiction movie. It looks like the mountain where the hobbits go to destroy the ring in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I guess you’ll need some of the equipment from here to scale any of these mountain ranges.

I believe this could be the famous photo taken by nature guide and photographer Denis Budkov, who captured a beautiful picture, which shows a cone-shaped lenticular cloud capping the Klyuchevskaya Sopka strato volcano in Russia. And if it is not, then this volcano must truly be mystical because it wouldn’t be the first time a strange cloud envelops it.
